Mamta Singh
Office Sought: County Commissioner
District: Hudson County District 4
Mamta Singh is a mom, community leader, non-profit founder, and longtime Jersey City resident.

When she immigrated to the United States, Mamta found it difficult to find help settling in. As a stay-at-home mom with a young child she felt there were too many barriers to engaging with her local community, and she knew other moms in her situation must have the same problem. In response, Mamta founded JCFamilies Inc, a 501c(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to enhancing Jersey City residents' parenting experience. The community connects over 40,000 families and provides regular opportunities to network and celebrate all Jersey City offers.

As her son grew older, she started to notice other ways her community could be improved - from boosting climate change resiliency to improving public transportation to ensuring Jersey City remains an affordable city to raise a family like hers. That’s why she's running for Hudson County Commissioner District 4. To ensure our county’s 600 million dollar budget is managed fairly, transparently, and to benefit the community that’s given her the opportunity to live the American Dream.

In addition to her work with JCFamilies, Mamta is an active member of the Hamilton Park community, volunteers for Sustainable Jersey City, and serves on the County Committee. She’s been recognized by the Jersey City Police Department for her work and was awarded the 2016 Women in Action Award by the City of Jersey City.
